Orange Beach Billfish Classic

May 12 - May 16

Founded in 1996, the Orange Beach Billfish Classic was built with a clear mission: support organizations that advocate for recreational anglers and protect the future of the sport. Over the years, it’s grown into one of the Gulf Coast’s premier tournaments—and a serious force for good—raising more than $1,050,000 for The Billfish Foundation and other conservation-focused groups.
While optional categories include tuna, wahoo, and mahi, this event is all about blue marlin at its core. It consistently draws top-tier teams from across the Gulf, all chasing big fish and bigger bragging rights. Prize money (excluding optional entries) is awarded for landed blue marlin as well as catch-and-release billfish, reinforcing a balance between competition and conservation.
What sets the OBBC apart is its foundation—this is a family-run tournament, owned and operated by fishermen themselves. That perspective shows up in everything: fair rules, thoughtful payouts, a schedule built around the teams, and a strong commitment to preserving the fishery for the long haul.
