Everything we know about the incoming new model from Excess Catamarans
Excess success – as Group Beneteau’s fasting growing brand, Excess has sold more than 450 Catamarans in the first four years of production! The Excess 11 has been the world’s success leader with over 260 hulls built. The brand has also found tremendous success with her big sister the 44′ Excess 14. With established offerings in the 38′ and 44′ markets, the brand has identified room in between these sizes for another thrill-seeker’s favorite.
New Model Timeline – Excess 13 Catamaran
The scale model of the Excess 13 will be unveiled at the Cannes Yachting Festival (Sept 10-15 2024) Stanton & Lorri Murray will be in Cannes for the unveiling. If you are interested in visiting the show – click here for VIP registration.
This model is expected to make her debut at the International Multihull Show in La Grande-Motte, France from April 23rd to 27th, 2025. Twenty-five hulls are expected to be completed in 2025 for worldwide delivery.
Our Building Expectations
The conclusions we draw on the new model come from multiple channels, including previous model features, international dealer meetings, and what we’ve seen in the 3D animations. We know the new model will boast the sensation-maximizing features that have become core to this next generation of sporty catamarans. This includes asymmetrical hulls, responsive rudders, and an overlapping headsail. The Excess 13’s sail area/displacement ratio is the same as her powerful big sister cat, the 14.

Interior Design by Jean-Mard Piaton
Piaton was given specific marching orders: Excess 13 must be a signature of Excess Style. From what we see of the initial 3D renderings this benchmark was met and exceeded. Natural light abounds with panoramic salon windows allowing for maximum visibility at helms and a constant view of the water. New features that we love include:
- Opening transoms with swim platform
- Newly styled nav station on port side of salon
- Office in owner’s suite – perfect for the remote worker
- Storage for boat toys
- New style of interior wood laminate
New features include opening transoms with swim platform, a newly styled nav station in the salon, an office in the owner’s suite, storage for boat toys, and a new style of interior wood laminate.
