How a group of our happy buyers in the Kemah, Texas area collaborated to bring their sailing yachts home
The First Leg
In the spring of 2023, Julie and Claude Signori of Houston, Texas listed and sold their Beneteau 361 with us, deciding that it was time for an upgrade in size. After extensive searching for their next sailboat with Joel Turner, they found and successfully closed on their Beneteau 523 in New Jersey. For the return trip to Kemah, Texas, they recruited the help of their friends and dock neighbors, Freddy and Brooke Santos, as crew.
Fast forwarding to the summer, Freddy and Brooke decided they were ready to undergo their own upgrade. Having developed a relationship with Joel Turner, they scheduled a meeting to discuss the market and what boats might be a good fit. Joel interviewed them on their goals and timeline, where they decided to buy their next boat before selling their current Hunter 340. Joel next coordinated showings to narrow down to a cruiser suitable for them, utilizing the strength of our Gulf Coast team, as they looked at boats across Texas, Louisiana, and Florida.
Full Circle
As summer turned to fall, a suitable candidate emerged – a Hunter 49 in Fernandina Beach, Florida. After another smooth closing with the Murray Team, they were handed the keys to the boat and tasked with a beautiful cruise back to Kemah. It was then only suitable that they enjoyed their trip back with Julie and Claude.
Here they are below after enjoying their second delivery trip. The two couples are neighbors in the Watergate Yachting Center, just down the dock from our office.
