The Slocum 43 was designed by Stan Huntingford and built in Taiwan with the Hai-O-Yacht Building Corp. Huntingford also designed the Formosa 42 and the Passport 42 which are the same hull but built at different yards. The Slocum 43 was in production from 1981 to 1990 with 60 hulls built. The Slocum was also offered as a Pilothouse.
