The Oceanis 30.1 was introduced as a 2020 model during the COVID-19 pandemic, a period that marked a challenging yet active market. Still, the 30.1 became Murray Yacht Sales’ most popular Beneteau model since becoming an authorized dealer in 1992. The OC 30.1 is offered in a two-cabin and one-head layout with a light interior, tiller or wheels, and numerous drafts and sail plans. She has a large cockpit and plenty of headroom below, and yet she will put a smile on your face while under sail.

48 North – Beneteau Oceanis 30.1 – Joe Cline, December 15, 2020
The cockpit of the 30.1 really is my favorite part about this design. It is as simple and clean as it is enormous, and would be the envy of sailors familiar with the 30-foot cruising boats of yesteryear. The twin helms make movement fore and aft effortless. The permanently affixed metal bar between the deep and comfortable bench seats serves as a hand-hold while providing the structure to the hinged cockpit table leaves.
PBO UK – Big new small yacht: Beneteau Oceanis 30.1 Tested – PBO Staff, April 14, 2020
Impressively there’s space for a small navigation table that can be deployed in a number of different modes, including folded up against the bulkhead or hinged down above the aft end of the port settee. Alternatively, the aft section of the settee can be removed, allowing someone to sit at the chart table in a conventional way.
BoatSales.com – Worthy of the Awards – James Hill, 12 May 2020
Below decks is airy and filled with natural light from fixed coachhouse and hull windows, as well as from centrally located grey-tinted deck hatches with ventilators. There’s also an opening hatch above the galley. A spacious shower/head is larger than you’d expect in a 30-footer, as is the L-shaped galley with stove/oven. A top-opening 75-litre fridge/freezer is bigger than you’d expect in such a compact yacht.
Barche Magazine – The sea in your pocket – Luca Sordelli, August 2020
It also does well when heeling, which is a natural consequence of the waterlines chosen by the Conq design studio, with two rudder blades, a pronounced chine, the maximum beam set well aft, and fairly fine lines. You may sail slightly askew, but you don’t realise and you get a nice feeling of control. That is the advantage of the two-wheel set-up: one of the rudder blades is always deep in the water. It is a set-up that takes away some sensitivity when there isn’t much wind, but which makes you happy as soon as you start to move fast.
Cruising World – Beneteau Oceanis 30.1: Best Performance Cruiser – Herb McCormick, December 9, 2019
The little Beneteau had dual wheels, which might seem like overkill, but they worked.
No Frills Sailing – Oceanis 30.1 Electric Sailing Cruiser – December 8th, 2022
The new Oceanis 30.1e comes with a Torqeedo pod drive, Cruise 10.0 pod drive mounted underneath the hull. An electronic engine throttle is present on the steering console at the wheel´s helm station. Your initial reaction might now be: “Why are they doing it? This little boat, fully electric, where is the news? Nothing special …” Well, it might seem so at first glance and I must admit I found it silly when I saw her at first too, but there is a bigger story to it.
Canadian Boating – Perfect For Everyday Sailors
With a D/L ratio of 171, the Oceanis 30.1 is considered a light displacement design and that’s perfect for everyday sailors who often struggle with fleeting breezes. The real power behind this rig is the square top mainsail that takes advantage of there being no backstay and that’s the way to go over an in-mast main. Instead of the optional overlapping genoa, a more versatile sail plan would include the self-tacking jib and a Code 0 for downwind sailing. With that setup, this slippery little boat can be singlehanded and given that she displaces well under 10,000 pounds, she’ll be moving in light winds when others are forced to motor.
Yacht.De – Strong Competitor in the Entry Level Class – Lasse Johannsen, November 15, 2023
Strong competitor in the entry-level class
On the day of the test, the wind was blowing at ten to twelve knots from the north-west. The Oceanis 30.1 is confidently pushed out of the harbour basin by the 21 hp Yanmar with conventional shaft installation and three-bladed folding propeller, the larger of the two models; the smaller Yanmar with 15 hp is standard. The boat is very easy to manoeuvre forwards and backwards under engine power. 6 knots are achieved at 80 per cent of the maximum speed, a good value considering the theoretical hull speed of around 7 knots.
No Frills Sailing – Sailing the Oceanis 30.1 to Sweden – August 24th, 2019
I fell deeply in love with this boat I must admit. And honestly, I question myself of how much boat a man really needs? The Beneteau Oceanis 30.1 is more than enough for two people (and with how many guys are you sailing normally?) and with this in mind her more than attractive price starting at 89.000 Euros ex VAT, the low maintenance and berthing costs and her small size in terms of creeping into the smallest berths make her a really attractive boat for classic owners.
BW Sailing – Oceanis 30.1 is a Proper Yacht – Sandy Parks, May 20, 2020
It is one thing for the designers and engineers at Beneteau to create cruising boats at 40 and 46 feet that have everything a couple or family needs for long vacations on the water or living aboard. But its something else all together to achieve this in a 30 footer. Yet, somehow, that is exactly what they have done.
Sail Magazine – Winner of the Small Cruiser Category – Adam Cort, May 12, 2020
Winner of the “small cruiser” category in SAIL magazine’s 2020 Best Boats contest, the Beneteau Oceanis 30.1 is a versatile and remarkable spacious entry level cruiser that is also more than capable of standing up to a blow. The fact that it can be ordered with either a fixed or swing keel only makes the boat that much more fun.
Sailing Magazine – Oceanis 30.1 Review – Robert H Perry, March 1, 2019
The wide stern really shines when it comes to cockpit design. Just think of this area compared to what you would have had on a 1970s IOR half-tonner. There is no comparison. The twin wheels open up the stern for boarding. There is a drop-leaf table for dining. The cockpit seats look long enough for a nap.
En Finot-Conq Architects – Robust Little Smart Cruiser
The Oceanis 30.1 is easy to sail but lively to helm and promises new experiences and thrills. This robust little smart cruiser is small enough to trail, opening up endless possibilities for sailing on lakes and rivers, as well as coastal sailing and high sea adventures.
Yachting Monthly – Oceanis 30.1 Test Sail – Graham Snook, August 9, 2019
By the end of the test, I’ll admit, I was little bit smitten by her, she’s a cute, fun boat that was great fun to sail but she also has a little cheeky streak, a glint in her eye, that says there’s more to her than her appearance suggests.
