With its alluring sleek silhouette and a deck plan optimized for cruising, the Oceanis 48 is perfectly proportioned. Numerous options to maximize space and efficiency distinguish her from others. She urges you to set off on long cruises and experience enjoyable stopovers.
The Oceanis 48 is equipped with a mainsail arch, a centered mast for proper balance, and a hard chine hull for great stability and comfort at all speeds.
The voluminous interior allows for comfort no matter which layout: 2/2, 3/2, 3/3, 4/3, 4/4, or 5/3. The cleverly designed shared living spaces, in either contemporary light oak or traditional mahogany, are bathed in ample light from the large hull portholes. The 45-degree companionway is an important characteristic of the latest generation of large Oceanis yachts. It connects the sizable cockpit with the boat’s spacious interior, having a considerable impact on ease of movement and lifestyle on board. The forward cabin, fitted in attractive trim, is a genuine suite furnished with an Italian-style shower with 2/2, 3/2, and 3/3 layouts.

Cruising World – Beneteau Oceanis 48 – Herb McCormick, September 21, 2012
Having sailed the other two latest Oceanis offerings—the 41 and the 45—on Chesapeake Bay last fall, I experienced a strong sense of déjà-vu as we got under way on the 48. All three boats share the same style, philosophy, looks, and characteristics, notably the huge cockpit and twin helms as well as the distinctive cockpit arch that serves several purposes: the anchor point for the mainsheet, the framework for a big dodger and bimini, and well-placed handholds for making your way forward or moving about the topsides.
Trade A Boat – Beneteau Oceanis 48 – Kevin Green
Accounting for 70 percent of Beneteau’s production the Oceanis range is crucial to Beneteau’s success, so it’s not surprising the latest craft bristles with new design. The mainsheet arch, shallow companionways, and enlarged cockpit with separate steering area are features shared with the company’s newest cruising range – the Sense. Down below, the single-level interior also generally follows the Sense standard. These commonalities are not surprising when you consider that the Sense models and the Oceanis 48 (although not the smaller 41 and 45) also share a designer, Berret Racoupeau.
Sailing Magazine – Beneteau Oceanis 48 – John Kretschmer, March 7, 2013
The cockpit is huge, making it feel like you’re aboard a much bigger boat, and the twin-wheel design adds to the openness. A large centerline table includes an icebox, robust stainless grab rails, and houses a multifunction display visible from both helms. There are decent-sized lockers and dedicated compartments in the sole for propane and the liferaft. The signature feature is the electric fold-down transom that ingeniously opens and lifts the transom, creating a large stern step in one motion. With a properly mounted ladder, this is about the best swimming platform I’ve seen on a sailboat, and it’s also ideal for boarding from tenders. In the up mode, it serves as a seat for both helms and a reassuring bridge from an otherwise open cockpit.

Understated luxury: design, space, and seamlessly integrated functionality, beauty of the wood, and soft colors. The mineral architecture, with elegant taut lines of the 2 and 3-cabin versions, is an invitation to quiet relaxation. The Family versions surprise with their level of comfort, and make no concessions to either space or functionality. Beneteau Oceanis 48 was in 2012. elected as “Best Production Sailing Yacht” (up to 15 meters).

Beneteau has filled out its Oceanis line with a third forty-something footer, the Oceanis 48. The new Berret-Racoupeau-designed cruising sloop builds on the elements of her 41 and 45 sisterships while optimizing her appeal for both living aboard and sailing.
Cruising World – Beneteau Oceanis 48 – Staff, August 27, 2012
The topside focal point of Beneteau’s new Oceanis line is the central cockpit arch; it serves as the mainsheet anchor, the dodger and bimini frame, and provides secure handholds. Twin wheels and the award-winning fold-down electric transom are strong features. Several interior options provide style and comfort. The Beneteau Oceanis 48 is part of Cruising World’s 2013 New Boat Showcase.
