Boating enthusiasts who want to learn the basics of sailing can do so at the United States Sailboat Show in October.
Organizers said First Sail Workshop participants will start with a 45-minute classroom session that is followed by 90 minutes of on-water time with SailTime and American Sailing Association instructors on the new Beneteau First 22.
The workshops will be held four times a day Oct. 5-9 during the show, and advance registration is required. Admission to the show is included with a First Sail Workshop registration, and all participants receive a one-year basic membership to BoatUS.
The workshops are sponsored by Annapolis Boat Shows, Beneteau America, the American Sailing Association, Annapolis Yacht Sales and SailTime.
