The National Marine Manufacturers Association provided an update on state legislation related to boating.
In Mississippi, a bill that would have established numerous requirements for contracts between marine dealers and manufacturers was not heard prior to a Feb. 1 deadline and has failed.
Also in Mississippi, the legislature did not act before a Feb. 1 deadline, killing a bill that would have required everyone under age 18 and aboard a boat less than 26 feet to wear a life jacket, the NMMA said.
