Adorning the walls of Murray Yacht Sales’ new downtown St. Petersburg office is a rotating collection of nautical-themed mixed-media artwork that does more than just look beautiful. It speaks to the spirit of exploration, craftsmanship, and community that Murray Yacht Sales holds as core values.

Acclaimed local artist John McCaskill of Studio Jomac, the talent behind the exhibition, has dedicated a portion of the proceeds from all sales during the exhibit to SailFuture Academy. This local high school transforms the lives of high-risk teens in foster care through innovative education and sailing-based mentorship.

The current exhibition features the work of acclaimed local artist John McCaskill of Studio Jomac, whose layered mixed-media pieces draw deeply from ancient Polynesian symbols, tribal patterns, and wayfinding traditions. Each piece echoes the visual language of global navigation – motifs that once adorned textiles, tools, and the bodies of the very first ocean crossers.

“As part of the artist’s ongoing exploration of waypoints and ancestral navigation, this work stands as a tribute to the enduring intelligence embedded in both design and journey.”

Beyond the connection to boating aesthetics, this exhibition also represents Murray Yacht Sales’ commitment to giving back to the local community. McCaskill has dedicated a portion of the proceeds from all sales during the exhibit to SailFuture Academy, a local high school transforming the lives of high-risk teens in foster care through innovative education and sailing-based mentorship.
