The J/80 is a fantastic daysailor, racer OD or PHRF. The fastest I have gone on a keel boat monohull was on a J/80 and we hit 20+ knots off the wind. The only problem was that is was a downwind start, we were the fastest boat by far and no one aboard had any ideas of the compass course to the first mark but it was a blast!
