Groupe Beneteau said it plans to hire 650 workers over the coming year for its facilities in France, the United States and Poland through next May. The new positions will include 490 permanent workers in France and 160 in the United States and Poland. Last year, the company hired 500 workers for its boatbuilding plants in France.
Groupe Beneteau said in a statement that it will be setting up training centers at its facilities in Cadillac, Mich., Bordeaux, France, and Poland that are similar to its existing training center in Vendée.
In France, two thirds of the 490 new permanent staff will be based in Vendée, and around 100 will be in Bordeaux. About half of the new jobs in France will be linked to growth in its Boat and Housing divisions, while the other half will be replacements for retiring workers.
The company said that new jobs in the United States and Poland are linked to its investments in expanding production in those countries.
“At the heart of our ‘Transform to Perform’ strategic plan, talents represent one of the pillars making it possible to ensure our group’s sustainable growth,” said Hervé Gastinel, CEO of Groupe Beneteau, in the statement. “We are proud to stand out in the boating industry through the quality of the resources we allocate for training our staff, whether they are on permanent or temporary contracts. Our employees’ team spirit and commitment to being part of the group’s development are essential because they contribute to our success.”
