The Grand Banks 36 Motor Yacht, built from 1995 to 1998, is an elegant cruising yacht that shares a similar interior layout and the same semi-displacement hull as the 36 Classic. The key distinction lies in the exterior design; the 36 MY features a raised aft deck, providing ample space for deck chairs and other amenities. The GB36 Series includes the Classic, Europa, Sedan, and Motor Yacht.
Grand Banks MY offered two primary two-stateroom, galley-up interior configurations for the 36 MY. The standard floor plan included a utility area forward, opposite the head. An alternative arrangement replaced the utility space with a separate stall shower and featured a centerline island bed forward. Both layouts included a lower helm and a deck door in the salon, with large cabin windows offering panoramic water views.
Consistent with all Grand Banks boats, the 36 MY boasts wide side decks. The mast can be lowered for bridge clearance. Additional features include teak decks and cabin top, a spacious engine room, a bow pulpit, a teak swim platform, and an opening front window. A single 210hp Cummins diesel engine, standard, provides a cruising speed of 8 knots, while twin 210hp engines allow for a cruising speed of 10-12 knots.
Key Features:
- Hull Design: Its semi-displacement hull provides an optimal blend of speed and stability.
- Engine Options: Available with either a single 210hp Cummins diesel, achieving speeds of 8 knots, or twin 210s for a cruising speed of 10-12 knots.
- Flybridge: Includes a helm station, ample seating, and frequently a bimini top.
- Lower Helm: A standard feature, it boasts a side access door and large cabin windows for panoramic views.
- Aft Deck: A raised aft deck provides a dedicated space for relaxation and outdoor activities while making for a true master cabin.
- Side Decks: Wide side decks enhance safety and ease of movement around the vessel, which is a trademark of Grand Banks.
