Brief History
The Corpus Christi Municipal Marina, along with the city’s waterfront, have evolved organically to meet the growing needs for Texas Boaters. Physical infrastructure dates back to the construction of the city’s seawall in the 1940’s. The layout, built in the late 80’s and expanded during the early 90’s, is two T heads and one L head. Storm damage and age necessitated an upgrade to the piers and facilities. Large-scale repairs and dock replacements are underway in 2025 and the city has committed millions to their 10-year vision. Standout new features we look forward to seeing are a community sailing center, pedestrian swing bridge, and expanded space for nearby shops and restaurants.

Marina Features
Corpus Christi Municipal Marina is one of the more fully equipped city marinas on the Gulf Coast. Here’s what visiting and long-term boaters can expect:
- Over 560 wet slips
- Dry storage
- Service yard
- Public boat launch
- Electric and water hookups at each slip
- Private showers and restrooms
- Laundry facilities
- Secure gate access at piers

Community & Atmosphere
Downtown Corpus Christi offers a diverse social scene just a walk away from the marina. The “Marina Arts District” hosts numerous art galleries and public art displays, which gives locals a great opportunity to do “First Friday ArtWalks,” a monthly festival with local artists, food, and music. Speaking of food, there’s lots of options available nearby, with casual spots like the Executive Surf Club and Elizabeth’s at the Art Museum (of South Texas) for bites and Rockit’s Whiskey Bar for live music, dancing, and drinks.

Final Thoughts – Why Here?
The Corpus Christi Municipal Marina makes an excellent stop for Gulf Coast cruisers or a full-time slip option for Texas boaters. It’s clean, safe, walkable, and packed with amenities, all while sitting right in the middle of a lively downtown waterfront.
