SUMMARY:Orange Beach Billfish Classic
DESCRIPTION:Founded in 1996\, the Orange Beach Billfish Classic was built with a clear mission: support organizations that advocate for recreational anglers and protect the future of the sport. Over the years\, it’s grown into one of the Gulf Coast’s premier tournaments—and a serious force for good—raising more than $1\,050\,000 for The Billfish Foundation and other conservation-focused groups.\nWhile optional categories include tuna\, wahoo\, and mahi\, this event is all about blue marlin at its core. It consistently draws top-tier teams from across the Gulf\, all chasing big fish and bigger bragging rights. Prize money (excluding optional entries) is awarded for landed blue marlin as well as catch-and-release billfish\, reinforcing a balance between competition and conservation.\nWhat sets the OBBC apart is its foundation—this is a family-run tournament\, owned and operated by fishermen themselves. That perspective shows up in everything: fair rules\, thoughtful payouts\, a schedule built around the teams\, and a strong commitment to preserving the fishery for the long haul. \n  \nHome Page
